Volunteers in Actions during Park Day, our annual spring clean up event with the Civil War Trust

As summer bids farewell, it's time to clean up its "mess." A relatively cool and wet summer were a boon to the plants of Mabry's Hill, but they need a healthy trim before the arctic airs of late fall and winter set.

Mabry-Hazen will hold an autumn grounds cleaning day on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Only have 2 hours? No worries, all are welcome to come and go as they please. With over seven acres of land atop Mabry's Hill, we rely upon the time and efforts of volunteers to maintain and beautify the space. Activities will include leaf and brush removal, mulching, dead tree removal, garden bed weed removal, and general grounds cleaning. Some tools will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring rakes, shears, shovels, tarps, pruners, trowels, and similar yard and garden tools.
