Parking is available in our grass parking lot at 1711 Dandridge Ave, our accessibility lot off Rosedale Ave, and along Dandridge Ave. 

• Please use the grass lot located at 1711 Dandridge Ave. for this event. Parking attendants will direct you as you enter the gravel driveway.

• Guests with wheelchairs, mobility aids, or elderly bones may park in the accessibility parking lot at 1690 Rosedale Ave. You can also search for Mabry-Hazen House Parking Lot on your GPS. Rosedale is the first left after the Summit Hill and Hill/Martin Luther King Jr Ave intersection, located between the Morningside Neighborhood Center and Mt. Olive Baptist Church. This lot has limited parking, and we ask that our able-bodied guests leave the paved parking for guests who need it.

• Street parking is NOT ALLOWED on Dandridge Ave or Rosedale Ave. Please park at Morningside Park instead.

Drinks will be sold at our Event Bar on the porch between the Julia Meek Guest house and the Florence Meek Caretaker Cottage. You may purchase beverages directly at the bar. General admission tickets include one free drink ticket, receivable at the check-in tent. VIP admission comes with three free drink tickets. The Event Bar will have beer, kombucha, and sodas for sale, while water will be free on the porch. All bar drinks are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Consumption of alcohol is only permitted for those 21 years old or older.

Fireworks are technically illegal within the City of Knoxville. Poppers and non-incendiary type fireworks are permitted, but they must be kept at least 50 feet from any historic house or structure on the campus. Any larger fireworks are prohibited on the grounds of Mabry-Hazen House.

Service animals are always welcome, and leashed and friendly dogs are welcome to come if you clean up after your pet. However, while this is an outdoor event, please consider the following when deciding to bring your pets:

1. It will be very hot and humid, with a forecasted high of 95F. You will need to keep your animal cool and hydrated. There is limited indoor space for all guests, and that space is not air-conditioned during this event. No animals except registered service animals are allowed in the historic house museum, and those service animals must stay in the hallways.

2. The fireworks shows are very loud, and we do not recommend bringing pets to this part of the event. As we're on top of the tallest hill, we are subject to the noise of every fireworks show happening in the area (of which there are many). You will feel the explosions in your chest and your bones. If your pet is afraid of thunderstorms, these fireworks will torture them.

Yes. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and comforts. Guests with wheelchairs or other mobility aids will have spaces on the accessible porch for a great view of the fireworks. The central lawn is laid out for yard games. There are plenty of shady spots in our level 1 Arboretum, and Mabry’s Hill has 7 acres, so we have plenty of room for everyone!

Yes. You are welcome to bring a cooler and your food and drinks. Food trucks will be on-site with delicious foods available for purchase. Part of the proceeds from food sales benefit Mabry-Hazen House. One (1) beverage ticket is included with your General Admission ticket purchase and three (3) tickets with a VIP admission ticket, but guests are welcome to BYO, too. The event bar will have beer, kombucha, and sodas. We will not tolerate anyone giving alcohol to minors, and alcoholic beverages will be served to guests ages 21+ only. Water will be available on the event bar porch and is free to all guests.
