From Mabry's Hill to Market Square, Mabry-Hazen House weaves through the history of Knoxville and East Tennessee. Our small museum preserves a big part of the past, but we need your help to extend our history well into the future. 

Why is our mission important?

• We believe Mabry-Hazen House and Bethel Cemetery preserve irreplaceable and vital evidence of Knoxville history, saving it for future generations.

• We believe that history provides a sense of place and builds community through the understanding of the shared history that connects us.

• We believe that knowledge of history is essential to understanding the issues we face today.

And, most of all, we believe this place matters.

• The Tennessee Specialty License Plate Program.

  • In Tennessee, a portion of funds from the purchase of certain Specialty License Plates supports the arts. TN4ARTS promotes and defends the Specialty License plate program by working to ensure these funds are protected and available to support arts organizations and projects in all of Tennessee's 95 counties.
