Starting at 7 PM, the house museum will be open for self-guided tours with staff on hand to answer questions.

At 7:30 PM, Dr. Christopher P. Magra, Professor at the University of Tennessee and Director of the Center for the Study of Tennesseans and War, will present a talk entitled, “The Real Pirates of the Caribbean.” He will share his expertise on Britain’s nautical empire before the American Revolution and add historical context to the movie before leading everyone in a sea shanty sing-along.

The movie will begin at 8 PM.

Join the Historic House Museums of Knoxville on the Mabry-Hazen House lawn for a free outdoor movie night featuring Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl!

Capt. Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) arrives at Port Royal in the Caribbean without a ship or crew. His timing is inopportune, however, because later that evening, the town is besieged by a pirate ship. The pirates kidnap the governor's daughter, Elizabeth (Keira Knightley), who possesses a valuable coin linked to a curse that has transformed the pirates into the undead. A gallant blacksmith (Orlando Bloom) in love with Elizabeth allies with Sparrow in pursuit of the pirates.

From pirate adventures to epic fantasy worlds to fast-paced action, each historic house museum will screen a different film throughout September. Audiences will enjoy the movie while taking in the unique landscapes of our historic sites.

Admission is FREE for each movie, but donations are greatly appreciated to support each museum’s preservation mission. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, or other items to lounge comfortably on the lawn.
