Show your support by donating a few volunteer hours to Mabry-Hazen House. With over 7 acres on Mabry's Hill, there is always plenty of groundskeeping that the museum needs help completing. Only have 2 hours? No worries, all are welcome to come and go as they please.
RESCHEDULED!
New Date: Saturday, May 23
Park DAY & Outdoor Work Day, Saturday, MAY 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
On Saturday, MAY 23, 2026, history buffs, community leaders, and preservationists will aid in the maintenance and restoration of numerous sites as part of Park Day, the American Battlefield Trust’s annual hands-on preservation event. Thousands of volunteers across the country will participate as Park Day celebrates its 30th year.
Mabry-Hazen House will host a Park Day event. We’ll be working outdoors from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Volunteers are welcome to come and go as needed.
We appreciate all the wonderful help you provide, even if you can’t be here for the full time! Needs include mulching, removal of invasive plants, washing the historic house, planting flowers, preparing the garden beds, and general spring-cleaning. Some tools will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring rakes, pitchforks, tarps, and similar yard tools.
Whether you have 1 hour or 4 hours available to volunteer, the museum could use your help!
Water and refreshments will be provided. Event will occur rain or shine.
Meet at the parking lot of Mabry-Hazen House. It is navigable via Google Maps if you search “Mabry-Hazen House Parking” or use the address 1690 Rosedale Ave. If you are approaching the site from Dandridge Ave. heading east, you will see signs for parking on your right. Rosedale Ave. is located between Morningside Community Center and Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
The American Battlefield Trust is dedicated to preserving America’s hallowed battlegrounds and educating the public about what happened there and why it matters today. The nonprofit, nonpartisan organization has protected more than 58,000 acres associated with the Revolutionary War, War of 1812 and Civil War across 155 sites in 25 states.
