House of Tarot at Festival of Phantasmagoria

Weds. Oct 28 - Sun. Nov 1, 2026

The House of Tarot is a 40’x60’ walled, lighted pole tent in the middle of the Mabry-Hazen House lawn. It contains vendors and divination specialists and is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

  • Wednesday, Oct 28: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

  • Thursday, Oct 29: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

  • Friday, Oct 30: 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

  • Saturday, Oct 31: 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

  • Sunday, Nov 1: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

How Does This Work?

The House of Tarot is open to a variety of divination artists! We welcome energy readers, bones and stones, pendulum work, oracle decks, and many other traditions.

  1. We sell $10 reading tickets to the public at the ticket table. 1 ticket = 1 reading.

  2. You collect reading tickets from walk-up clients. Clients can tip you further on their own, so bring a tip jar or Venmo.

    • These are short/basic readings designed to give the general public a feel for the divination arts. Readings average about 15 minutes, but are left to your discretion.

  3. At the end of your time at the event, we’ll cash out your tickets for $4 per ticket.

Provided:

  • 38" round white plastic table, serviceable but very 90s public pool. We recommend bringing a tablecloth.

  • 2-3 white plastic chairs, same era as the tables.

  • The tent will have ambient light from two large chandeliers and string lights. You may wish to bring extra battery-powered lighting for your table.

Bring:

  • 2 containers: one for tickets and one for tips.

  • Business cards for your clients to find you later for more in-depth work.

  • Decorate your space however you'd like! There won't be any power points available, so candles/battery-powered/solar lights are recommended for direct lighting on your table.

  • Dress as you please (some readers go all out with costumes), but temperatures might be a bit chilly, even with the walls cutting the wind.

Payment:

  • Readers get a cash cut of every ticket they collect at a 60/40 split ($4/ticket goes back to you).

  • You are welcome to donate your proceeds to our historic preservation mission as a tax-deductible donation.

    • If you go the tax deduction route, you will also earn volunteer hours with our foundation. Earning 8 volunteer hours over the weekend will get you a free Festival of Phantasmagoria t-shirt!
